Los Angeles | 2023 Chinese New Year Peace Lantern Festival Pray for Blessings 🏮

🏮 This Spring Festival, come to the largest temple in Los Angeles, Hsi Lai Temple, to participate in the festive Peace Lantern Festival.

🏮 Special activities in the temple for the New Year include lantern appreciation, wishing trees, blessing bells, and lighting of the Peace Lanterns. In addition, the temple is adorned with lifelike decorations of the Year of the Rabbit, small Buddha statues, and animals, both inside and outside the temple and lantern festival. Situated halfway up the mountain, the temple offers a wide view and beautiful scenery. It's a great choice to visit with family and friends during this festive season, giving you the feeling of being transported to China.

🏮 From January 22nd to 29th, no appointment is needed to enter the temple. From January 30th to February 5th, advance reservations are required.

🏮 Incense offerings and prayers are free in the temple. However, for activities like the wishing tree, it is recommended to bring enough spare change. On January 28th and 29th, there will be a special Buddhist ceremony in the temple. Visitors should park at Puentahillsmall and take the free shuttle bus to the temple.

🏮 Compared to parking at the mall at the bottom of the mountain and taking a bus up on the first day of the lunar year, coming here on the third day of the new year allows you to park directly at the temple's gate, which is more convenient for families with children.

🏮 The Lantern Festival at Hsi Lai Temple will last until February 5th, covering the entire period from the first to the fifteenth day of the lunar month. Peace Lanterns symbolize peace and auspiciousness. After going through the challenges of the pandemic in 2022, we hope that everyone can enjoy a year of smooth and peaceful progress in 2023, the Year of the Rabbit.
